 Pregnancy Ticker

On August 7, 2012 Blake and I found out that we were going to be parents. We are so happy and excited to add to our little family :)

Birth Story

I have to say giving birth to Finley was probably one of the greatest experiences of my life up until now. I contracted pretty consistently throughout my whole pregnancy, which the doctor kept telling me could be an indication that I could have Finley early. I thought there was no way I was going to go past due.

Hold up... Before you go all judgey on me, I loved being pregnant. Not everyone can say they LOVE being pregnant, but I can. Well, I loved it until around 37 weeks. Around then I was up late watching TV with Blake and was having the most intense contractions I had ever felt, and I was pretty used to them by then. I tried to sleep but couldn't so early in the morning we headed over the the hospital. After observing me for an hour with no change but perfect labor contractions ever 3 minutes (URG) they sent me home with some kind of shot that knocked me out and assured me I would be back before 24 hours having this baby.

NOPE.

I struggled the next 4 weeks (yep, because you have to go one week past due to get induced at IHC) I was tired of working, felt like a whale, and I had just had a glimpse of what it would feel like to think you are meeting your baby! I did EVERYTHING to try to induce labor (except castor oil). I was going to go past due.

On April 23rd, 2013 I got up around 3 and took a shower (could not sleep, waaay to anxious), I got ready in like an hour. I went over everything I had over and over making sure I was not missing anything. Finally we headed over to the hospital!! It felt like a dream, I was going to have my baby. We got all checked into the delivery room. I got my pitocin started around 8:00 am, got my epidural around 11:00 am and delivered my beautiful baby boy at 1:45 pm. The baby cry was the most beautiful sound. I had done it. I got him here, he was healthy, he was MAD! As I looked at my baby I got a little teary eyed but didn't cry (it happened so fast it was hard to really process "This is my baby, this is MY baby")

I went into hormone shock shortly after they got me all squared away and just as I was able to really hold Fin. Since I was shaking uncontrollably and my arms weren't working and I started to black out I had to give Finley to Blake while I slept it off.

They woke me up to move us to mom and baby. I was functioning enough to hold him now (holding your baby that you have been waiting to meet for 9 months is the best) and as they walked me out the doors, they played the lullaby over the intercom (they do that every time a baby is born at Riverton Hospital) the nurse leaned over and said, "That one is for you guys.", then I cried. Boob baby cried. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how wonderful this was, being a mom to this beautiful baby boy.

18 weeks! It's crazy that we are almost half way done :) This was a pretty amazing week. I had my first experience with braxton hicks (def started to drink more water) and felt the baby move for the first time! It was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life :)

Cravings: French fries and crown burger fry sauce (the jalapeno craving was much more healthy :S)

17 Weeks

Cravings: French Fries :)

16 Weeks

Oops, missed week 15. Life got crazy there for a second. I am def getting fuller! We found out we are having a baby boy this week!!

Cravings: Jalapenos. That's all I got friends.

14 Weeks

14 weeks now and Baby Morris is about the size of a lemon :) I now have my energy back and I'm feeling great. I started a regular exercise program and I have noticed a huge improvement in my mood and overall sense of well-being.

13 Weeks

One week closer! Baby Morris is now the size of a peach, too cute! We had our doctor's appointment today, quite eventful, but everything turned out just fine!

Cravings: Grapes, fries (potatoes), cheese, anything salty :)

12 Weeks

I still look more chubby than pregnant.. but I am just going to enjoy fitting into my normal clothes while I still can (some are definitely getting snug). Not much has changed from my last post. We have our next doctor's appointment next week :)

Cravings: cheese, Cheetos, and potatoes.

11 Weeks

Photo: 11 weeks! :) http://instagr.am/p/QEKPr1rxtd/

Really started to feel bigger this week. Absolutely no nausea now which has been really nice :) I am still very tired all of the time.

The biggest change I think for this week was mood swings (awesome!). I have really felt a ton more emotional and could cry over absolutely nothing. I have to keep reminding myself I'm not crazy just pregnant :)

Cravings: Apples, pickles and string cheese.

10 Weeks

I have been a very lucky girl. In these first weeks of my pregnancy I have only had mild nausea, which is almost non-existant. The beginning of my 9th week, I started feeling extremely tired and have tried to catch a nap when ever possible. So far, I really can't complain. It's been a really amazing experience and we are very excited for the milestones that are ahead of us! I will try and post pictures weekly if possible. Last week I went on a last minute business trip that kind of took it out of me. Hopefully life can stay a little more under control from now on (I can dream, can't I??).

Cravings: Turkey Bacon anything!!

Reactions From Family:

We had told everyone on both sides of the family by 5 weeks along. Everyone has been so happy for us and it's really nice to have the support system that we do. We told my dad in a fun way at a family dinner one Sunday.. you can watch the video below
